About me

I have been a Deputy Head Teacher, Lead Teacher, Specialist Teacher for Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and SENCo, and have experience in primary and secondary schools as well as in local authority and specialist provisions. I have recently worked for Cambridgeshire Local Authority SEND Services as a specialist teacher.

I have completed the National Award for SEND and the Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Practice and have achieved the National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership.

Through my involvement with the London Leadership Team, I have completed SEND Peer reviews across schools and as a SEND Advocate for Whole School SEND, I have worked to change the language associated with SEND and promote an ethos of equal opportunities for all. I regularly deliver SEND training to teachers.

I believe it is essential to develop an inclusive environment for all students with SEND and to promote a positive education experience to develop resilience and self-esteem. I use a pupil centred approach to planning; to identify barriers and build on strengths.
